Culture Transformation

Shifting how an organisation actually behaves, not just what it says — through clear behaviours, visible leadership and steady reinforcement.

Most organisations can describe the culture they want. The values are on the wall, in the induction pack and in the annual report. The difficulty is the gap between those words and what people actually see each day: how decisions are made, what gets rewarded, what is tolerated and how leaders behave under pressure.

Culture transformation starts with an honest picture of the culture as it is, gathered from the people who live it rather than assumed from the top. From there we translate the values into specific behaviours people can recognise, agree what leaders will do differently and connect those behaviours to the everyday systems that shape them — hiring, performance conversations, recognition and promotion.

Culture does not change in a workshop. The work runs over months, with leaders taking visible ownership, regular checks on what is shifting and adjustments where the old habits hold on. Our role is to structure the work, keep it honest and help your own people carry it forward.

What you get

What an engagement typically delivers. The exact scope is agreed with you first.

A culture baseline

A clear diagnosis of the current culture, drawn from interviews, focus groups and a short survey, showing where behaviour matches the stated values and where it does not.

Values made observable

Each value translated into a small set of concrete behaviours — what it looks like when it is lived and what it looks like when it is not — so people can recognise and discuss it.

Leadership commitments

Agreed commitments for the leadership team on how they will model the behaviours, and how they will hold themselves and each other to account.

A reinforcement and measurement plan

Changes to the everyday systems that shape behaviour, with a simple way of tracking progress over time so the change does not fade once the project ends.

How we work

  1. Understanding the culture as it is

We listen across levels and functions to build an honest baseline, and share what we find with the leadership team before any decisions are made.

  2. Defining the target

Together with leaders and a cross-section of employees, we agree which behaviours matter most and describe them in plain, specific language.

  3. Leading and embedding

Leaders take visible ownership, and we adjust the systems that send signals about behaviour: how people are hired, recognised, reviewed and promoted.

  4. Measuring and reinforcing

At agreed intervals we check what has shifted, discuss what is getting in the way and adjust the plan so the change holds.

What changes

  • Values that people can describe in terms of what they do, not just what they believe
  • Leaders whose behaviour is consistent with what they ask of others
  • Everyday systems that reward the behaviours the organisation wants to see
  • A way of tracking the culture over time instead of guessing at it

Common questions

How long does culture change take?

Longer than most people hope. The diagnosis and definition can be done in weeks, but embedding new behaviours usually runs over months, with regular checks along the way. We agree realistic milestones at the start.

Do we need to rewrite our values?

Not necessarily. Often the values are sound and the problem is that nobody has defined what they mean in practice. We only suggest changing them if the diagnosis shows they no longer fit.

Who needs to be involved?

The leadership team has to own the work — culture change led only by HR rarely holds. We also involve employees from different levels and functions, both in the diagnosis and in defining the behaviours.

How is it priced?

There is no standard price list, because the scope varies. We propose the cost together with the scope, so you can see both before you decide.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we are the right fit.
